The Institute for International Criminal Investigations (IICI) and Justice Rapid Response (JRR) will hold an Advanced Course on Investigation of Crimes and Violations Involving Children (AICVIC) on 4-8 December 2017 in The Hague.
The course is a continuation of the JRR-IICI effort to increase international investigative and documentation expertise on issues relating to children, and builds on the Monitoring and Investigating Crimes and Violations Involving Children (MICVIC) course which was held jointly by IICI, JRR and the Romeo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative in Amman in 2016. Experts who successfully complete the AICVIC course will be certified to the JRR Expert Roster, and be eligible to deploy to support accountability efforts at the national and international level.
Participants will be practitioners with several years of international criminal and/or human-rights investigation, documentation or monitoring experience, including experience working with children as victims, witnesses and/or perpetrators.
The AICVIC course is by invitation-only and the final selection of candidates has been made.
