Lt. Gen. Gerard McMahon
The Institute is deeply saddened to announce the death of our dear friend and colleague Lt. Gen. Gerard McMahon, DSM, former Chief of Staff of the Irish Defense Forces.
Gen. McMahon was one of the founders of the IICI, and a leader in the enlightened movement to enforce international humanitarian law in defense of the defenseless. As a member of the Board of Directors from the organization’s beginning, he contributed in no small measure to the formulation of the organization’s mission and policies which we continue to follow today.
His wise counsel and invaluable contributions to our discussions and decision-making will be sorely missed. We extend our most profound condolences to his widow Ann and family.
