In July 2017, IICI trained Military Police investigators, Legal Officers, Gender Advisers and medical personnel from the Irish Defence Forces on documenting conflict-related sexual & gender-based violence in the context of international peacekeeping deployments.
As part of another joint initiative between the Irish Defence Forces and IICI, a similar training will be held at the end of November 2019, again hosted by the Irish Defence Forces, this time to enhance the capacity of NATO personnel (and others) involved in operations, including peace enforcement and similar work, to document evidence of conflict-related SGBV.
